I’m 29 weeks pregnant while I write this, so I thought that instead of sending messy lists through private messages, I would create a more organized way of explaining what my essentials during pregnancy have been, at least during the 1st and 2nd trimester.
This is my “favorite products” list, (and I’ll probably update it when I get enough 3rd-trimester pregnancy experience as well):
1st trimester
For nausea:
- Salty Crackers
- SO MUCH Water with lemon (I bought this freshly squeezed juice because of laziness lol)
- Apple cider vinegar with water in the morning which made my nausea better as well
- Citric halls for when it was really bad
For new mom excitement:
- Pregnancy + app (you can see real size baby info)
- What to expect app to start tracking baby’s development, info and what’s growing on certain weeks
- IPHONE XR for pictures!!! Lots of pictures! I would notice a lot of bloating some days and some other was completely flat. My bump didn’t pop until week 16 but before that, I could definitely tell my tummy wasn’t as flat as usual and I had trouble closing my shorts/jeans. Felt like I overate but pictures help me with comparing day by day.
Supplements
There’s another post with more details on this but here’s a summary:
- Folate is essential in 1st trimester because it can help prevent birth defects such as neural tube defects and spina bifida
- I continued the Inositol which I believe helped me get pregnant. I checked with my doctor and she said it was safe, so make sure you check with yours as well.
- Progesterone suppositories which I was told by my doctor to use during the first trimester because of PCOS. Make sure you run everything by your own doctor since everyone’s pregnancy situation is different!
2 trimester
Clothing
- Maternity jeans because my pre-pregnancy ones just wouldn’t fit anymore after the 16th week.
- Maternity leggings are always my first option before jeans because they are comfier and easy to wear. (I use 2 brands, Blanqi and Calzedonia)
- Comfy bras because my boobies were too heavy at this point. I was looking for something that gave enough support so that they wouldn’t get saggy but also comfortable enough that they don’t feel painful by end of da.
- Strong support exercise bras (because the comfy ones above are too soft for a light jog)
- “Spanx” style under clothing wear: This may sound unconventional, but on some days that I was feeling so heavy that I had to hold my belly to walk, I would start wearing these inner leggings with strong support – and they would help keep my bump supported. Now during the 3rd trimester, I wear them every single day and they help keep my bump in place, as well as extra warm because it’s a winter pregnancy.
Stretch mark creams
(Also detailed on this other post) but I’ll briefly detail here as well
My pregnancy was during winter, so my go-to everyday style is VERY comfy. I usually wear leggings with a sports bra and a warm tight turtleneck shirt which I tuck under the bra to show off my bump.
Here’s a page where I linked all my pictures with the exact products I’m wearing so that you can take a look at what you like! XO, thanks for reading.
