No added sugar Jell-O party treats – TANIA VILLALTA

No added sugar Jell-O party treats

“Jell-O helps grow hair and nails”….. we’ve all heard about it.. but is it a myth or is true?

So i was reading online trying to discover the truth behind it, and found some pretty interesting stuff. According to one of my favorite bloggers, “the skinny confidential“, she met a group of models that swore by gelatin pills. The pretty ladies with long hair said that they had modeled all over the world & all of the top models took it daily. Here I am, taking biotin pills every morning and I was taking the wrong one this whole time??

Since taking two different hair pills was a bit too much, and I still have a 300 biotin capsule jar in my kitchen, I decided that i couldn’t lose anything by trying to take the gelatin the good old natural way. I’ve been making a batch every now and then to have a tasty healthy low-calorie snack in the fridge (and hopefully, strengthen my weak hair and nails!!). It’s important that when following the recipe you use the natural no sugar option. If you buy the flavoured one, it won’t be as “low-calorie”.

And for all the moms out there, the other day, two of my friends came over with their kids, and this Jell-O was a hit! They loved it so much that they followed my recipe and used it at their kid’s birthday party!! The secret behind it is how it looks cute like candy, tastes like fruit, and they can just keep coming back for more without the sugar rush.

So, if you have an upcoming event and want a simple yet delicious treat, this is it! Takes less than 10 minutes to make, waiting time in the fridge is pretty short and looks cute as a decoration as well!!

How to make it SUGAR FREE

1. Make the flavorless Jell-O as normal instructions indicate
2. Make a strawberry or fruit juice using whatever sweetener you prefer. I like using Splenda! (you can filter out the strawberries or leave in as you prefer)
3. Following the instructions on the box, add the appropriate amounts of juice/jello
4. Heat the juice and pour it into the jelly mix.
5. Microwave everything together making sure there are no clumps left.
6. Place into the refrigerator and wait at least 2 hours
5. Cut out into shapes and decorate!!

Remember that according to the fruit that you choose, and the amount of juice you add to the jelly, the flavor can vary. Don’t be afraid to get creative and make sure you write down the amounts for future reference!

I’m 26, born and raised in Costa Rica. When I was 19, I met the love of my life and we decided 2 weeks later that we wanted to get married. I finished college  and we decided to leave our country and move to Spain in order to start our new family life
