How Mira Fertility Tracker can help PCOS get pregnant

Hi guys! In this blog post I’m very excited to be telling you about a product (out of the very few) I think are real essentials when trying to get pregnant.

If you’ve been following my fertility story, you know that getting pregnant with my first son was extremely difficult. Due to PCOS and extremely irregular periods, ovulation rarely happened and when it did, tracking was nearly impossible.

After starting some natural supplements a few years ago and getting extremely lucky, I managed to get pregnant in a cycle without tracking ovulation, however, when trying for my second baby, I imagined I would not be as lucky. I wanted to be as prepared as possible since my periods were still irregular due to breastfeeding and I needed an easier way to track ovulation. Thats where the Mira Care product comes in.

Even though I rarely partner up with brands or products, Im happy to dedicate an entire post to this one, because I know it’s something that can help many of you guys that are also in my situation.

The Mira Care device is made specifically for women who have an interest in tracking their cycle in a more accurate way than with ovulation sticks. If you have ever used regular ovulation sticks to track your ovulation (pictured below) then you probably know what it consists of. For those of you who don’t – I’ll briefly explain what ovulation sticks consist of.

Ovulation sticks (pictured above, also known as opk’s) work by detecting a surge in a certain hormone (LH) that starts increasing a few days before ovulating. Once you get close to your fertile week, you can start testing and the “test” line should start getting darker, until eventually it becomes darker than the “control” line. The theory says that once you get that positive ovulation stick test, you’re ready to try for a baby on that day. Again, sounds great on theory but now I’ll tell you some of the challenges I’ve had when using these.

Us girls with PCOS tend to have a higher LH hormone – which is the one that is tested in this urine test. That means that many times the test line seems darker and it’s so difficult to compare the lines objectively. It ends up being extremely confusing.

In my personal experience I ended up not using them because I would never seem to catch the positive one so I would get frustrated and think I wasn’t ovulating. This is exactly where the Mira product comes in. Instead of just comparing line colors, Your Mira Care device includes sticks which you will use urine on as well – but instead of just checking for the color, you then insert it into their device. (Picture Below).

With the Mira Care device, after using the stick and waiting 15 minutes for the results, your device will connect to the Mira app where you will be able to read the results. It will not only provide a numeric value of where your level is at, but it will also start charting your data. In my opinion, that is a total game changer because after you get using it for a few months, you become able to recognize your body and what it’s “regular” and “high” values are.

Since everyone’s body is different, these values are not always the same , so that’s why knowing your specific data is so important in order to be able to objectively compare the results.

Another huge pro about the product is its use during the first trimester of pregnancy. After talking to the experts from the company, after explaining that I had managed to get pregnant, they walked me through the “how to make the switch” with the device. I thought that it was only for getting pregnant but in a pleasant surprise, they told me that it was also greatly useful for early pregnancy and tracking your progesterone.

In order to use if for this case, you need to change the sticks from the ovulation ones to others called fertility success wands. These look very similar but come packaged in a different box and color. As mentioned below, they track a specific progesterone that’s shows up in urine instead of LH hormone. The team also explained that as pregnancy progresses in the first trimester, this hormone should be increasing. It is great way to track that “all is progressing well”. In the case that you do see a severe change and either the number is either not growing (or declining) it’s super important to contact your doctors because that may indicate that something is not progressing correctly in your pregnancy.

As horrible and scary as that may sound, it’s definitely better to know in order to maybe catch a problem on time. If any of you are interested and want to try out the product I’m going to leave below all of the information.

An important tip I can give you is to always test at the exact same time every day, because your data might not be accurate if you have more water in your urine (because of concentration of hormones would not be the same). As I mentioned before, this brand has great customer service so if you have any questions they will respond super quick which helps clear doubts.

They have given me a code for you guys to use, so use TANIA10 for a 10% discount on their website . Hopefully many of you will find this helpful either to get pregnant or to track your pregnancy <3 Thanks for reading guys and I hope you love this review 🙂
